KVH, or Konstruktionsvollholz, a German term meaning “solid structural timber”, is a high-quality structural softwood product widely used in European timber construction. It is usually manufactured from kiln-dried Spruce and finger-jointed to produce long, stable and accurately machined lengths.
KVH is valued for its strength grading, dimensional stability, clean appearance and suitability for visible or concealed structural applications. It is particularly useful where long lengths, predictable performance and reduced movement are required.
Typical uses: timber frame construction, roof structures, wall frames, structural posts, beams, prefabricated buildings and exposed structural work.
