Tulipwood, often referred to as American Poplar in the UK trade, is a lightweight and versatile hardwood used extensively for painted joinery and furniture components. It is usually pale cream to greenish or brownish in colour, with a fine, even texture.
It machines easily, glues well and provides a stable, cost-effective hardwood for internal applications where paint-grade performance is required.
Typical uses: painted joinery, furniture components, mouldings, doors, cabinet framing, shopfitting, panelling and internal fittings.
