Western Larch is a strong, resinous softwood valued for its durability, attractive appearance and robust performance in external applications. It typically has a warm yellow to reddish-brown colour, with a pronounced grain and good strength properties.
Compared with many general construction softwoods, Western Larch offers good natural resistance and is widely used where strength, appearance and external performance are important. It can be machined, profiled and finished, although care should be taken due to its resin content.
Typical uses: cladding, fencing, gates, decking, landscaping, external joinery, agricultural buildings and exposed timber applications.
