American Red Oak is a strong and widely available hardwood with a warm pinkish to reddish-brown tone and pronounced grain. It is generally easy to machine, glue and finish, making it popular for interior joinery and furniture applications.
Red Oak offers a cost-effective alternative where a strong, decorative hardwood is required for internal use. It is not normally selected for external applications unless specifically treated and detailed.
Typical uses: furniture, staircases, internal joinery, mouldings, shopfitting, flooring, panelling and cabinetry.
