European Oak is one of the most established and widely specified hardwoods in the UK timber industry. It is valued for its strength, durability, attractive grain and long-standing use in joinery, furniture and construction.
The timber is generally light to medium brown with a distinctive grain and, when quarter sawn, attractive medullary ray figure. It machines and finishes well and is suitable for both traditional and contemporary projects.
Typical uses: windows, doors, staircases, furniture, beams, flooring, mouldings, shopfitting, restoration work, external joinery and architectural features.
